Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mixed trend in its most recent closing, with several companies showing gains while others experienced declines. Notable movements included ECOPRO MAT, which saw an increase of 4,200, closing at 73,100. L and F also recorded a significant rise, closing at 185,000, up by 14,400. Samsung SDI CO., LTD. and Hanwha Aerospace showed positive performances, closing at 456,500 and 1,537,000, respectively, with increases of 3,000 and 87,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies experienced less favorable outcomes. LS saw a decrease of 6,500, ending at 261,500, while HD Hyundai Heavy Industries closed at 470,000, down by 1,000. In the electronics sector, Samsung Electronics Mechanical and LG Innotek recorded declines, closing at 457,000 and 325,500, respectively, with reductions of 5,000 and 11,000.
The construction and chemical sectors also displayed varying results. GS E and C experienced an increase of 800, closing at 28,800, whereas OCI Holdings faced a significant drop of 16,700, ending at 199,800. Kumho Petrochemical managed to close positively at 123,500, up by 2,600, contrasting with S-Oil, which decreased by 3,300 to close at 114,800.
In the automotive industry, Hyundai Wia and Kia Corp. showed declines, closing at 75,600 and 150,800, respectively, with decreases of 100 and 800. On the other hand, Mobis recorded a rise, closing at 390,000, up by 1,500. The energy sector saw KEPCO close at 39,900, down by 350, while Hanwha Solutions experienced a decline of 1,000, ending at 37,150.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index reflected a diverse range of outcomes, with some companies capitalizing on gains and others facing downward adjustments in their closing prices.
