Seoul: The KOSPI 200 stocks experienced a downturn in Tuesday's trading on the Korea Stock Exchange, with most stocks closing lower. Notable declines were observed across several key companies, reflecting a challenging day for investors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, stocks such as Hyundai Motor and SK hynix witnessed significant drops, with Hyundai Motor closing at 445,500 KRW, down by 24,000 KRW, and SK hynix at 807,000 KRW, down by 66,000 KRW. SeAH Steel Holdings also saw a substantial decrease, closing at 190,600 KRW, down by 10,900 KRW. Other companies such as POSCO Holdings and Samsung Electronics reported declines of 10,500 KRW and 9,100 KRW respectively, closing at 332,500 KRW and 167,200 KRW.
The market, however, did see some gains. Asia Holdings closed higher at 279,500 KRW, up by 500 KRW, while OTOKI increased by 1,500 KRW to close at 359,500 KRW. KPIC also saw a rise, closing at 130,000 KRW, up by 1,900 KRW.
Other notable movements included Amorepacific Holdings, which declined by 850 KRW to close at 27,650 KRW, and KCC, which dropped by 18,000 KRW to end at 482,000 KRW. LS and Yuhan also recorded declines, closing at 256,000 KRW and 94,800 KRW, down by 5,000 KRW and 3,700 KRW, respectively.
