Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showcased a mix of gains and declines across various industries. Notable increases were observed in several companies, while others faced downward adjustments in their stock prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, leading the upward trend was SK Square with a significant rise of 38,000, closing at 570,000. Korea Zinc also marked a substantial increase, up by 54,000 to close at 1,732,000. Samyang Food followed closely with a rise of 53,000, finishing at 1,219,000. In the energy sector, OCI Holdings saw an increase of 6,900, closing at 155,600. POSCO International and LS Electric also experienced gains, rising by 4,300 and 4,000 respectively.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Department Store and SK Innovation saw notable increases, with the former up by 3,800 to 110,900 and the latter up by 2,800 to 116,300. Korea Aerospace and KEPCO E and C posted gains of 3,100 and 2,600 respectively. Among other notable gainers, LG Innotek rose by 2,500, while CJ CheilJedang and Lotte Chemical Corp both increased by 2,000.
Conversely, several companies experienced declines. Hyundai Elevator faced a significant drop, down by 4,200 to 98,400. Amorepacific and Youngone Corp also saw decreases, down by 3,600 and 2,700 respectively. LIG Nex1 and Celltrion both experienced declines, dropping by 2,000 and 1,000 respectively. Among others, SBHC and Kumho Tire decreased by 1,400 and 430.
The KOSPI 200 index reflects a dynamic market with varied stock performance, highlighting the fluctuating nature of the economic landscape.
