Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed notable gains as several major companies closed with increased stock prices. Among the top performers, LG Energy Solution led the charge with a significant rise of 17,500, closing at 454,500. Other key players such as POSCO Holdings and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries also showed strong performances with increases of 12,500 and 18,000, closing at 307,500 and 581,000 respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SK Innovation and HD Hyundai recorded substantial gains with SK Innovation rising by 1,600 to close at 126,300, and HD Hyundai increasing by 7,700 to close at 180,700. Companies like KRAFTON and APR also reported upward movements, closing at 290,000 and 236,500, with gains of 3,000 and 5,000 respectively.
Other notable companies that experienced a positive closing include Kolon Industries, which saw an increase of 2,300, closing at 37,750, and BGF Retail, which rose by 2,000, ending at 106,900. Samsung Electronics also marked an increase of 1,100, closing at 98,600.
Despite the overall positive trend, some companies faced declines. KB Financial Group dropped by 700, closing at 115,800, while Doosan Bobcat fell by 400, ending at 59,600. GKL and NHIS also saw minor declines, closing at 16,470 and 20,750 respectively.
The KOSPI 200's performance reflects a strong day for many of its listed companies, indicating a positive sentiment among investors in the market. However, the mixed results among others suggest a cautious approach as the market continues to navigate various economic conditions.
