KOSPI 200 Sees Significant Gains as Major Firms Close Higher

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with significant gains, reflecting a positive trading day for numerous major firms. Key players such as Kia Corp., Nongshim, and LG Corp. reported notable increases in their stock prices, contributing to the overall upward movement of the index.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kia Corp. saw its stock price rise to 131,500, marking an increase of 600. Nongshim experienced a substantial jump, closing at 455,500, up by 23,000. LG Corp. also performed well, with its shares climbing 5,800 to finish at 113,500. POSCO Holdings registered an impressive gain, with shares rising 17,500 to reach a closing price of 327,500. Meanwhile, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw an increase of 37,000, closing at 515,000.

Other companies also experienced positive movements. Hyundai Steel's shares rose by 1,000 to close at 28,000, while Lotte Fine Chemical increased by 1,450 to reach 45,600. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' stock closed at 455,500, up by 2,500. GC Biopharma Corp. reported an increase of 8,200, bringing its closing price to 130,300. LG Energy Solution and Korea Zinc saw their stocks rise by 18,500 and 107,000, respectively.

Despite the overall positive trend, some firms experienced declines. Notably, Samsung Electronics saw a decrease of 24,500, closing at 257,000. LS also reported a decrease, with shares falling by 5,000 to 288,500. NHIS experienced a minor drop, with its stock closing at 25,950, down by 150.

Several other companies reported modest gains, contributing to the positive sentiment in the market. Companies like COSMOCHEM, DB Insurance, and KPIC saw their stock prices increase by 910, 2,700, and 2,600, respectively. This positive performance across a wide range of sectors indicates a robust trading day for the KOSPI 200.
