Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with notable gains as numerous major companies saw their stock prices rise. Among the top performers, HYOSUNG HEAVY recorded a remarkable increase, closing at 2,930,000, up by 320,000. Other significant gainers included HYOSUNG TNC, which went up by 19,500 to close at 409,000, and LG Innotek, which increased by 21,500 to close at 347,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the day saw HD HYUNDAI closing at 251,000, marking an increase of 14,500. APR also witnessed a substantial rise, closing at 335,500, up by 17,500. POSCO Holdings followed suit with an increase of 17,000, closing at 362,500. Additionally, SamsungElecMech experienced a significant rise, closing at 514,000, up by 57,000.
Meanwhile, several companies experienced declines. BGF Retail saw a drop of 3,000, closing at 133,600, while HANWHA SYSTEMS decreased by 1,100, ending at 130,600. LG Energy Solution also faced a decline, closing at 406,000, down by 2,500.
Despite the gains, some companies remained unchanged. ORION closed at 130,000, and LS ELECTRIC ended the day at 788,000, with no change in their stock prices. Overall, the day was marked by positive momentum in the market with the majority of companies recording gains.
