Kim Jong-un Congratulates Vietnam’s To Lam on Presidential Election

Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has extended his congratulations to Vietnam's Communist Party chief, To Lam, on his recent election as president. Kim's message emphasized the commitment to strengthening the bilateral relations between North Korea and Vietnam, as reported by the North's state media on Wednesday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim Jong-un conveyed his congratulatory message to To Lam, who serves as the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted Kim acknowledging Lam's successful leadership in guiding Vietnam's national development and prosperity, as well as enhancing the people's wellbeing. Kim expressed confidence that the historical friendly and cooperative relations between North Korea and Vietnam would continue to grow, based on an agreement made in Pyongyang the previous year.

To Lam was notably one of the few international leaders invited to a military parade in Pyongyang last October. The event marked the 80th anniversary of the North Korean ruling party's founding. During his visit, Lam engaged in discussions with Kim Jong-un, focusing on expanding the cooperative ties that have long existed between the two nations.
