Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a notable downturn as several prominent companies saw their stock prices fall. Among the affected stocks, Taekwang Industrial and Hyosung Heavy Industries suffered the most significant drops.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Taekwang Industrial's stock fell by 161,000 to close at 1,288,000, while Hyosung Heavy Industries saw a decrease of 217,000, closing at 2,606,000. POSCO Holdings also faced a considerable decline, dropping 38,500 to 374,500. Additionally, Samsung Electro-Mechanics experienced a reduction of 39,500, closing at 409,000.

Other companies that faced declines included LG Energy Solution, which decreased by 34,000 to 393,000, and LG Innotek, which also fell by 34,000 to close at 285,000. Mobis experienced a drop of 48,500, ending at 468,500, while DOOSAN's stock decreased by 126,000 to 1,152,000.

The report also highlighted several other companies with price reductions, including Kumho Petrochemical, which fell by 14,900 to 138,500, and Hanchem, which decreased by 23,500 to 314,500. KIA Corporation saw a decline of 23,200, closing at 182,300. SK's stock fell by 21,500, closing at 379,500, and POSCO Future M decreased by 20,500 to end at 226,500.
