Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a notable downturn as various major companies recorded declines in their closing prices. The trading session saw several key players facing downward adjustments, impacting the overall performance of the index.
According to Yonhap News Agency, GS closed at 67,700, down by 1,600. Hyundaiglovis saw a decrease of 2,500, ending at 238,500. Misto Holdings and Hanwha Life also reported declines, closing at 50,500 and 3,585, down by 300 and 115, respectively. Asia Holdings experienced a significant drop, closing 6,000 lower at 279,500, while KCC ended the session at 462,500, down by 11,500.
SKBP and Taihan Cable and Solution witnessed decreases of 3,000 and 1,550, closing at 108,500 and 30,250, respectively. Hyundai M and F INS and Daesang also faced downturns, with declines of 350 and 200, closing at 29,800 and 22,250. Orion Holdings fell by 600, ending at 22,000, while Samsung Epis Holdings saw a substantial decrease, closing at 558,000, down by 23,000.
Despite the overall downturn, some companies reported gains. Hana Financial Group and S-1 saw increases, closing at 114,600 and 86,800, up by 500 and 1,500, respectively. Samsung Card and KT also ended higher, closing at 58,900 and 56,300, with increases of 700 and 200. Samsung E and A and KT and G saw upward movements, ending at 31,850 and 163,300, up by 200 and 1,500.
Other notable declines included Hanwha Aerospace, Kumho Petrochemical, and Samsung Life, which closed at 1,181,000, 135,100, and 184,300, down by 46,000, 2,800, and 7,400, respectively. Lotte Shopping managed a slight gain, closing at 97,000, up by 500, while companies like LS Electric and Korea Zinc faced significant drops, closing at 595,000 and 1,641,000, down by 24,000 and 68,000.
