Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a day of mostly positive movement, with many companies reporting an increase in their stock prices. Among the notable gainers were Hyundai Autoever, which surged by 14,500 to close at 414,000, and KIH, which rose by 9,500 to finish at 229,500. Emart also posted a significant increase, closing 4,500 higher at 96,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies saw moderate gains, such as Hyundai Marine Engine, which climbed by 4,000 to 81,500, and Daewoong Pharm, which increased by 3,500 to end the day at 167,900. Celltrion and Hana Financial Group also recorded notable increases, closing at 209,000 and 113,400, respectively.
Despite the overall positive trend, a few companies faced declines. LIG Nex1 fell by 17,000 to 742,000, while Hyundai Rotem experienced a decrease of 4,500, closing at 203,000. Other companies like Sanil Electric and DB Insurance also saw declines, ending the day at 144,400 and 183,200, respectively.
In the financial sector, Woori Financial Group saw an increase of 1,250, closing at 33,350, while Meritz Financial rose by 1,900 to finish at 114,900. Meanwhile, BNK Financial Group and iM Financial Group ended on a positive note, with modest increases of 720 and 170, closing at 19,050 and 17,280, respectively.
Consumer goods companies also saw varied performances. Amorepacific increased by 1,700 to 130,900, whereas Lotte Chilsung rose by 1,400, closing at 124,000. However, Hankook Tire and Technology experienced a slight decline, dropping by 100 to 59,000.
