Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed a significant decrease in the stock prices of major companies, reflecting a day of notable market fluctuations. Among the companies listed, LG H and H closed at 324,500, down by 3,000, while LGCHEM fell by 6,500 to reach a closing price of 276,000. Similarly, Hyundai Rotem concluded the day at 51,300, marking a decline of 2,300. According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also faced downward trends, such as Celltrion, which fell by 3,900 to 183,000, and KEPCO, which decreased by 2,100, closing at 21,700. HyundaiMtr's stock price dropped by 5,500, settling at 209,000, while POSCO Holdings ended at 273,000, a decrease of 2,500. Additionally, GC Corp saw a reduction of 4,400, closing at 149,900. On the brighter side, HyundaiElev and kakaopay experienced upward movement. HyundaiElev rose by 1,800 to 53,300, and kakaopay surged by 6,050, ending at 32,950. LotteChilsung also witnessed a minor increase, closing at 121,200 with a rise of 800. In contrast, several companies, including SamsungSecu, SKTelecom, and TCC STEEL, faced declines. SamsungSecu closed at 48,950, down by 1,750, SKTelecom at 58,800, down by 1,200, and TCC STEEL at 33,550, experiencing a decrease of 1,600. Furthermore, notable falls were recorded by DB INSURANCE, which dropped by 6,500 to 107,200, and KPIC, which declined by 3,200, closing at 75,200. Despite some gains, the overall trend for the day was predominantly downward, impacting a variety of sectors within the KOSPI 200 index. Companies like KumhoPetrochem, Mobis, and HANWHA AEROSPACE also reported declines, reflecting broader market conditions and investor sentiments.
