KOSPI 200 Sees Predominant Declines with Few Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index presented a predominantly downward trend in its latest closing, with several companies witnessing a drop in their stock prices. Notable among the decliners were HYOSUNG HEAVY, which fell by 24,000 to close at 1,216,000, and SeAH Steel Holdings, which dropped by 7,300 to reach 177,000. Other significant decreases included HDHMS, which declined by 9,000 to settle at 204,000, and Hanwha Vision, which was down by 2,300 to finish at 51,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, some companies did manage to record gains despite the overall downward trend. HanmiPharm climbed by 1,000 to close at 304,000, and BNK Financial Group saw an increase of 180, reaching a closing price of 14,580. LotteChilsung also rose by 600 to 120,200, while YoungoneHoldings appreciated by 900 to end at 132,900.

The list of decliners was extensive, with Meritz Financial dropping by 1,200 to 125,300, SKSQUARE by 4,000 to 145,000, and HYOSUNG TNC by 4,000 to 215,000. Other companies such as LG Energy Solution and ECOPRO MAT also saw their prices decrease, closing at 349,000 and 49,100, respectively.

Meanwhile, the likes of HyundaiMtr recorded a slight increase, up 500 to finish at 220,500, whereas EMART remained unchanged at 71,500. The downward trend was further reflected by companies such as DENTIUM, which saw a decrease of 2,100 to 55,400, and CSWIND, which fell by 400 to 41,350.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 index's recent performance reflects a challenging period for many of its listed companies, with only a handful managing to buck the trend and post gains.
