KOSPI 200 Sees Notable Gains Among Key Companies

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed significant fluctuations in the closing prices of various major companies, with several firms experiencing substantial gains. Samsung Electronics Mechanical led the upward trend with an increase of 39,000, closing at 456,000. HDKSOE also saw a rise, closing at 375,000, up by 24,500.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies contributing to the positive turn include Korea Zinc, which increased by 16,000 to close at 1,484,000, and CSWIND, which added 12,000 to reach 76,900. Meanwhile, Hanwha Aerospace experienced a notable gain of 32,000, closing at 1,449,000.

Despite the overall positive performance, some companies ended the trading day with declines. Youngone Holdings decreased by 5,500 to 210,500, while LG Innotek dropped by 4,000 to 324,500. Additionally, Hanchem and KEPCO saw decreases of 5,000 and 950, respectively.

Several firms managed to maintain stability or experience minor adjustments. Kumho Petrochem remained unchanged at 118,000, while Samsung Card and Cheil Worldwide saw slight increases of 500 and 520, respectively. Meanwhile, KT's shares rose modestly by 100, closing at 59,500.

The day's trading illustrated a mixed yet predominantly positive trend across the KOSPI 200, reflecting varying performances among South Korea's major companies.
