Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mix of upward and downward movements in its latest trading session. Notably, major companies like Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and Samsung Electronics Mechanical led the gains, while others such as Korea Zinc and Hyosung Heavy experienced declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw a significant increase in its stock price, closing at 516,000, marking an increase of 29,000. Samsung Electronics Mechanical also experienced a substantial rise, closing at 1,558,000, up by 55,000. These gains were part of a broader trend for Samsung-affiliated companies, with Samsung Electronics also seeing a rise of 6,500 to reach 274,500.
Other notable gainers included OTOKI, which increased by 10,500 to close at 337,000, and DB Insurance, which rose by 10,200, closing at 176,800. GS Retail and S-Oil also posted positive results, with GS Retail rising by 950 to 27,700 and S-Oil climbing 6,700 to close at 147,600.
Conversely, Korea Zinc faced a significant decline, dropping 37,000 to finish at 1,196,000. Hyosung Heavy was another major decliner, with its stock price falling by 63,000 to 2,954,000. LS Electric and Hanwha Solutions also saw decreases, with LS Electric down 7,500 to 206,500 and Hanwha Solutions falling by 1,150, closing at 35,400.
The trading session highlighted the varying performances within the KOSPI 200 index, reflecting a complex market environment with both robust gains and notable declines across different sectors.
