Locarno: Actor Kim Min-hee and her longtime partner, director Hong Sang-soo, made a notable appearance at the Locarno Film Festival this week. This event marks their first public outing together since the birth of their son, as reported by foreign media on Friday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the couple attended the screening of Hong's latest feature, "Nowhere to Lay My Eyes." The film was selected for the international competition section of the 79th edition of the annual festival held in Switzerland. Kim Min-hee, who became a mother last year, engaged in a discussion with the audience post-screening, sharing insights into her experiences as a new mom balancing her acting career.

"Nowhere to Lay My Eyes," Hong Sang-soo's 35th feature film, tells the story of Sang-hee, portrayed by Kim Min-hee, who travels to the southern Korean island of Jeju to reconnect with her estranged mother. In addition to her role as Sang-hee, Kim contributed to the film as the production manager.

This marks the fifth occasion Hong has been invited to showcase his work at the Locarno Film Festival. He previously received the best director award for "Our Sunhi" in 2013 and the prestigious Golden Leopard prize for "Right Now, Wrong Then" in 2015. Kim Min-hee also garnered acclaim, winning the best performance award for her role in Hong's "By the Stream" in 2024.
