Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index revealed a varied performance as it closed with several companies experiencing notable changes in their stock prices. While some companies saw a decline, others reported significant gains, particularly in the technology and energy sectors. According to Yonhap News Agency, significant gains were observed in companies such as HDKSOE, which closed at 194,400, marking an increase of 4,800. Samsung Electronics Mechanic also saw a rise, closing at 112,500, up by 2,400. In the energy sector, S-Oil and KEPCO recorded increases, closing at 56,500 and 23,600, up by 2,200 and 1,000 respectively. On the other hand, some companies faced declines. LS Electric experienced a considerable drop, closing at 133,300, down by 5,800. KorZinc also saw a decline, closing at 1,006,000, down by 27,000. Lotte Shopping was another notable decliner, with its stock closing at 58,000, down by 4,100. Other companies such as Hanmi Science and Kumyang also reported decreases, closing at 31,600 and 30,450, down by 400 and 650, respectively. Meanwhile, significant gains were also recorded by Samsung C and T, which closed at 124,000, marking an increase of 6,700, and HL Mando, closing at 42,050, up by 5,100.
