Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed mixed results in its latest trading session, with notable gains in several major stocks. Leading the charge, Doosan surged by 79,000 to close at 1,180,000, marking one of the most significant increases of the day. HanmiPharm also experienced a substantial rise, climbing 29,000 to reach a closing price of 530,000. These gains reflect positive investor sentiment towards specific sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also showed upward trends. GS rose by 5,900, closing at 127,700, while DAEWOONG PHARM increased by 5,800 to end at 128,000. Doosan Enerbility and Celltrion added gains of 5,100 and 3,800, respectively. Meanwhile, Hanwha Life edged up by 210, reaching 5,580, and HITEJINRO experienced a modest increase of 130 to finish at 15,500.
Not all stocks shared in the upward momentum. HYUNDAIGLOVIS saw a notable decline, dropping 9,000 to a closing price of 204,500. POONGSAN also faced a decrease, down 5,200 to close at 82,400, while LG H and H fell by 5,000 to 311,000. LIG Defense and Aerospace experienced a reduction of 8,000, closing at 71,000, highlighting challenges in specific sectors.
HANMISemi, NC, and MiwonComcl were among those ending on a positive note, with increases of 2,000, 1,500, and 2,700, respectively. Companies like CSWIND and KDHC also reported gains, ending at 50,000 and 74,600. This varied performance underscores the dynamic nature of the stock market, influenced by investor confidence and economic factors.
