Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a mixed performance today with significant movements across various sectors. While some major companies experienced declines, others reported notable gains, particularly in the technology and energy sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, prominent companies such as Samsung C and T saw a decline of 31,000, closing at 364,500. Similarly, KIWOOM experienced a drop of 500, ending the day at 267,500. In contrast, LG H and H reported an increase of 3,000, closing at 316,000, while KT and G rose by 900 to 173,200.
In the tech sector, LGELECTRONICS closed at 199,800, marking an increase of 5,300. HYUNDAIGLOVIS also saw an upward movement of 2,100, ending at 198,800. SK Innovation recorded a rise of 5,300, closing at 130,100, reflecting positive trends in the energy sector.
Other notable performances included LGCHEM, which increased by 20,500 to close at 273,000, and Hyundai Rotem, which saw a gain of 4,100, closing at 134,200. Meanwhile, companies such as KEPCO E and C and GS experienced declines, closing at 90,300 and 114,600, respectively.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index demonstrated a varied performance, with significant gains in sectors like technology and energy, countered by declines in other areas.
