KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Notable Gains in Financials

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index showcased a mixed performance, with several key financial stocks experiencing gains, while select companies faced declines. Meritz Financial led the financial sector with its stock price rising by 5,400 to close at 120,800. BNK Financial Group also closed higher at 14,840, marking an increase of 480, and iM Financial Group saw an uptick of 440, ending at 17,550.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other significant gainers included KOLMAR KOREA, which jumped by 6,700 to reach 150,000, and HD CE, which increased by 7,700, closing at 134,800. The cosmetics and pharmaceuticals sectors also saw positive movement with COSMAX climbing 3,000 to 289,000, and Samsung Biologics rising by 12,000 to 1,585,000.

Meanwhile, the retail and technology sectors faced some declines. CHONGKUNDANG's stock fell by 1,600 to 67,500, and Netmarble experienced a decrease of 800, closing at 37,100. HD Hyundai Electric also saw a decline, dropping by 1,000 to 719,000. Orion and HyundaiAutoever faced reductions of 1,600 and 1,500, respectively.

In the energy and materials sector, HD HYUNDAI's stock witnessed an increase of 3,500 to 215,500, while HS HYOSUNG ADVANCED rose by 2,600 to 168,100. However, SKSQUARE saw a significant drop, declining by 16,000 to 1,060,000.

The KOSPI 200 index's performance reflects a blend of gains and losses across various sectors, highlighting the fluctuating market conditions.
