Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mixed performance as it closed with several notable declines among its listed companies. Key players such as HD Hyundai, Samsung Life, and LIG Nex1 experienced significant drops in their stock prices. Meanwhile, a few companies, including Lotte Wellfood and YoungoneHoldings, marked gains amid the overall downturn.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai saw a decrease of 9,000, closing at 217,500, while Samsung Life dropped by 4,900, ending at 148,700. LIG Nex1 faced a notable decline of 24,500, bringing its closing price to 400,500. Other companies such as Doosan Enerbility and Hanwha Systems also reported declines, with Doosan Enerbility down by 3,400 to 75,400 and Hanwha Systems falling by 3,000 to 50,400.
On the other hand, some companies experienced upward trends. Lotte Wellfood rose by 1,200, closing at 123,300, and YoungoneHoldings increased by 3,400, ending at 168,700. DONGSUH also saw a rise of 450, closing at 28,300. Despite these gains, the overall sentiment on the KOSPI 200 was marked by declines, with major companies like HD Hyundai Electric and POSCO Future M experiencing substantial drops of 28,000 and 9,000, respectively.
Samsung C and T decreased by 6,000 to close at 214,500, while TaekwangInd fell by 7,000, ending at 798,000. The transportation and logistics sector also saw declines, with Hyundai Glovis down by 1,900 to 161,300. In contrast, the food sector had mixed results, with Nongshim declining by 1,000 to 461,000, while Lotte Wellfood posted gains.
Overall, the trading session demonstrated mixed outcomes, with more companies experiencing losses than gains, highlighting a challenging day on the KOSPI 200 index.
