KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Key Gains in Technology and Aerospace Sectors

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index exhibited a mixed performance as several key stocks registered significant gains, while others saw declines. The technology and aerospace sectors led the gains, contributing to an overall positive sentiment in the market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Korea Zinc experienced a notable increase, closing at 1,235,000, up by 129,000. Hanwha Aerospace also reported a substantial rise, closing at 1,152,000 with an increase of 55,000. In the technology sector, Samsung EPIS Holding surged by 10,500 to settle at 422,000, while LG Innotek climbed 3,000 to reach 555,000. Samsung Securities saw a rise of 2,200, closing at 93,200.

On the contrary, Lotte Chemical Corp faced a decline, closing at 58,500, down by 2,500. Other companies such as Kumho Petrochem and SK Telecom also saw decreases, with Kumho Petrochem dropping by 4,500 to 125,100 and SK Telecom declining by 3,200 to 85,000. Kakao and Samsung Card experienced minor declines, closing at 39,550 and 47,650 respectively.

Additionally, the energy sector saw mixed results, with KEPCO rising by 100 to 35,700, while its subsidiary, KEPCO E and C, fell by 1,000, closing at 100,900. KEPCO KPS also saw a decrease of 1,150, ending at 46,100.

The market's varied performance reflects the ongoing adjustments and investor sentiments across different sectors, with notable gains in some areas offset by declines in others, marking a dynamic trading session for the KOSPI 200.
