KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Gains in Tech and Consumer Sectors

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with a mix of gains and losses as several key players in the technology and consumer sectors saw their stock prices rise. NAVER led the tech sector with a significant increase, closing at 269,500, up by 17,500. Other notable gains in the sector included NCsoft, which saw a minimal decline to 190,400, down by 100, and LGELECTRONICS, which rose by 900 to 74,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the consumer sector also experienced upward momentum. AMOREPACIFIC marked a notable rise, closing at 145,500, an increase of 12,200. HANATOUR SERVICE and COSMAX also saw positive movements, with their shares climbing to 55,400 and 279,500, up by 1,000 and 23,000, respectively.

In the financial and manufacturing sectors, KIWOOM and KIH recorded gains, closing at 213,500 and 131,900, up by 8,000 and 4,600, respectively. On the downside, KEPCO KPS and KEPCO E and C faced declines, with their shares dropping to 57,700 and 111,300, down by 1,300 and 2,700.

The index's performance was further influenced by a mix of other movements. LGCHEM and SKCHEM posted gains, closing at 211,500 and 63,900, up by 5,500 and 8,600. On the contrary, Hanwha Ocean and DWEC saw their stock prices decrease to 88,600 and 4,255, down by 600 and 140.

Investors are closely monitoring these fluctuations as the KOSPI 200 continues to reflect broader market trends and sector-specific developments.
