KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Performance with Electronics and Petrochemical Sectors Showing Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a varied trading session with notable movements in both upward and downward directions across major companies. LGELECTRONICS ended the day at 130,000, marking an increase of 2,500. Similarly, LandF saw a rise to 204,000, up by 5,500, while Hyundai WIA closed at 84,800, increasing by 2,100. Mobis and Hanchem both experienced significant gains, closing at 432,500 and 303,000 respectively, each up by 10,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also reported increases, with TKG Huchems rising by 200 to finish at 18,370, and LOTTE Fine Chem closing up 1,000 at 62,500. DWS and Coway saw gains, ending at 28,450 and 86,100, respectively, with increases of 350 and 200. The petrochemical sector, represented by SK's notable gain of 13,500, closed at 412,000.

However, the index also saw declines in several sectors. Celltrion dropped by 5,000, ending at 204,000, and JB Financial Group decreased by 1,200 to close at 27,500. LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp and Hanwha Aerospace experienced losses, closing at 92,200 and 1,454,000, down by 4,500 and 9,000, respectively. Shinsegae and Nongshim also saw declines of 5,000 and 500, closing at 402,000 and 381,000.

Further decreases were observed in KEPCO, which fell by 350 to 45,850, and SKTelecom, which declined by 2,000 to 98,000. Additionally, Samsung Card ended the session down by 800 to 53,000. Despite these mixed performances, the day's trading highlighted significant activity across sectors, particularly in electronics and petrochemicals.
