KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements with Significant Gains and Losses Noted

Seoul: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries experienced a notable decrease in its KOSPI 200 closing price, dropping by 8,000 points to 420,050.

According to Yonhap News Agency, GC Corp and Hanwha were among the top gainers, with GC Corp rising by 2,400 to close at 128,700, and Hanwha increasing by 14,500 to reach 108,800. Other companies showing upward trends included GS E and C, which went up by 100 to 20,850, and Samsung SDI Co., Ltd., which saw a rise of 5,400 to 178,200.

Mirae Asset Securities and GS Retail also experienced positive movements, increasing by 200 to 21,650 and 440 to 17,090, respectively. Otoki surged by 5,500 to 399,500, while DN Automotive rose by 600 to 22,800. Youlchon Chem experienced a minor increase of 50, closing at 30,900. Hyosung Heavy and LG Energy Solution also closed higher, at 905,000 and 297,500, respectively.

However, some companies faced declines. SKC dropped by 5,700 to 104,500, and HtlShilla decreased by 1,300 to 50,400. Hanssem and Doosan saw significant losses, with Hanssem down by 1,000 to 45,100 and Doosan dropping by 51,000 to 605,000. Other notable declines included SK hynix, which fell by 6,500 to 285,500, and Korea Zinc, which decreased by 10,000 to 809,000.

Overall, the KOSPI 200 reflected a day of mixed outcomes, with several companies experiencing gains while others faced declines, indicating varied investor sentiment across different sectors.
