The KOSPI 200 index witnessed varied movements as multiple companies recorded gains and losses in their closing prices. Notably, Hanwha Aerospace led the surge with an increase of 38,000, closing at 1,463,000. Meanwhile, LIG Defense and Aerospace also saw a significant climb, up by 23,000 to reach 989,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies such as Samsung Biologics and Krafton also posted gains, with Samsung Biologics rising by 14,000 to close at 1,528,000, and Krafton increasing by 8,000 to 274,500. HD Hyundai and Doosan Bobcat followed suit with gains of 8,000 and 2,200 respectively. On the other hand, the financial sector saw positive movements with Hana Financial Group and Hanwha Life increasing by 2,400 and 115 respectively.
Contrastingly, some companies faced declines. Samsung Card and Samsung C and T recorded decreases, with Samsung Card down by 700 to 53,800 and Samsung C and T dropping by 8,500 to settle at 311,500. Korea Aerospace and Samsung SDS also saw downward adjustments, with losses of 11,100 and 8,600 respectively.
In the telecommunications sector, KT and LG Uplus experienced declines, with KT down by 300 to 61,700 and LG Uplus falling by 140 to 16,600. Similarly, the energy and display sectors faced downturns as LG Display dropped by 480 to 12,770 and GS declined by 1,100 to 75,700.
Despite the mixed results, companies like Lotte Wellfood and KT and G provided some optimism with increases of 5,400 and 5,200 respectively. The overall performance of the KOSPI 200 index illustrates a complex market environment with varying outcomes across different sectors.
