Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed mixed movements as several listed companies recorded varied closing prices. Notable changes included significant gains for some firms, while others saw declines in their stock values.
According to Yonhap News Agency, POSCO Holdings experienced a rise of 15,000, closing at 385,000. DB Insurance also posted an increase of 3,300, reaching a closing price of 173,300. Meanwhile, Samyang Food and Youngpoong recorded gains, closing at 1,376,000 and 65,200 respectively, with increases of 7,000 and 2,800.
Conversely, Samsung Electronics saw a decline of 1,500, ending at 216,000. SK hynix and Hanwha Aerospace also faced downturns, with SK hynix decreasing by 27,000 to 1,128,000, and Hanwha Aerospace dropping by 96,000 to 1,423,000. Other companies such as HMM and SKC reported declines of 100 and 8,300, closing at 21,100 and 113,700 respectively.
Several firms, including NHIS and S-1, managed to record modest gains, with NHIS up by 100 to 35,300 and S-1 increasing by 400 to 92,200. Additionally, Hyundai Motor and Shinsegae showed positive movements, with Hyundai Motor rising by 4,000 to 538,000, and Shinsegae increasing by 3,500 to 379,000.
However, some companies like KCC and Taekwang Industrial experienced significant losses, with KCC dropping by 19,000 to 541,000 and Taekwang Industrial falling by 28,000 to 1,263,000. Meanwhile, Hyundai Engineering and Construction recorded a decline of 2,500, closing at 177,000.
The varied performance of these companies highlights the fluctuating nature of the stock market, reflecting diverse trends and investor sentiments across different sectors.
