KOSPI 200 Sees Mixed Movements as Financial and Retail Stocks Rise

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced mixed movements today with notable gains in financial and retail sectors, alongside declines in pharmaceuticals and technology stocks. KOLON IND closed at 49,450, marking an increase of 350 points, while HanmiPharm experienced a significant drop, closing at 475,000, down by 6,000 points.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Meritz Financial saw a rise of 2,400 points, closing at 110,000, while BNK Financial Group increased by 230 points, ending at 16,150. In the retail sector, emart climbed 1,900 points to close at 88,900, and BGF Retail also rose by 3,000 points to finish at 117,000.

Technology stocks showed varied performances, with Samsung Biologics dropping 17,000 points to close at 1,790,000. Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Electric surged by 29,000 points, reaching a closing price of 901,000. KRAFTON and HYOSUNG TNC also saw gains, closing at 265,500 and 378,500, respectively, marking increases of 10,000 and 18,000 points.

In the gaming sector, DoubleUGames rose by 700 points, closing at 53,100, whereas Netmarble increased by 1,000 points to 53,000. However, Doosan Robotics fell by 1,300 points, ending at 118,600.

Other significant movements include HYBE, which decreased by 3,000 points to 379,000, and APR, down by 2,000 points to 276,000. In contrast, SKSQUARE saw a substantial gain of 32,000 points, closing at 473,000, and HyundaiAutoever advanced by 9,500 points to 443,000.
