Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed significant movements as several stocks saw substantial gains while others faced declines. Among the notable risers were Samsung SDI Co., Ltd., which increased by 22,500 to close at 481,500, and Hyosung Heavy, which saw an impressive rise of 102,000 to reach a closing price of 2,934,000. Meanwhile, DB Insurance experienced a decline, dropping by 3,600 to 162,300.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the trading session also highlighted gains for companies like GC Biopharma Corp., which climbed by 3,200 to 133,100, and SKC, which rose by 5,100 to 86,300. Other companies that posted gains included SLCORP at 57,100, up 1,900, and Yuhan, which closed at 82,000, up 1,400.

On the downside, Samsung Electronics experienced a decline of 1,000, closing at 230,000, while SK hynix saw a decrease of 2,000 to end at 1,420,000. Youngone Holdings and Samsung Electronics Mechanical also faced reductions, with the former down by 5,000 to 201,500 and the latter dropping by 4,000 to 1,274,000.

Further gains were noted for POSCO Holdings, which increased by 5,000 to 336,000, and LOTTE Wellfood, which rose by 14,000 to 130,900. Additionally, companies like KDHC and LS Electric gained 7,500 each, closing at 72,000 and 208,500, respectively. Meanwhile, OTOKI saw a decline of 6,000, ending the day at 335,500.

The session was marked by significant movements across various sectors, reflecting the dynamic nature of the market as investors responded to evolving economic conditions and company performances.
