HD Hyundai Heavy Secures Landmark 956 Billion-Won Engine Generator Deal in U.S.

Seoul: HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. announced on Monday that it has secured a substantial 956 billion-won (US$675.1 million) contract to supply engine generators to Corban Energy Group, a U.S.-based company. This agreement marks a significant achievement for the South Korean shipbuilder and engine manufacturer, as it involves delivering power generation equipment with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts to support data centers managed by a prominent U.S. technology company.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Corban Energy Group specializes in various facets of energy infrastructure and engineering, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage, transportation, power generation, and data center energy solutions. This latest contract represents HD Hyundai Heavy's most substantial deal to date in the realm of power generation engines, underscoring the company's growing influence in the global energy sector.

In a related development earlier this year, HD Hyundai Heavy signed a 627.1 billion-won agreement with AEG, a U.S. energy infrastructure developer, to provide power generation facilities for data centers. This series of deals highlights the company's expanding footprint in the international market for energy solutions, particularly in the United States.
