KOSPI 200 Sees Gains in Technology and Food Sectors

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced notable movements as several companies recorded increases in their stock prices. Notable gains were observed in the technology and food sectors, providing a mixed yet optimistic outlook for investors.

According to Yonhap News Agency, NAVER led the charge with a significant rise of 18,000, closing at 274,500. The technology sector saw additional gains with Samsung SDS climbing 4,900 to reach 166,600, and LG H and H increasing by 4,500, closing at 285,500. SK also contributed to the positive momentum with an increase of 2,000, ending at 208,500.

In the food sector, SamyangFood reported a substantial gain, climbing 33,000 to close at 1,499,000. CJ CheilJedang also saw an increase of 2,500, reaching 233,000. Additionally, Hanatour Service and Cosmax reported increases, with their stock prices rising by 700 and 1,500, closing at 50,300 and 228,000, respectively.

The energy and infrastructure sectors presented a mixed outcome. HD Hyundai Infracore and KEPCO E and C both saw declines, with their stock prices falling by 270 and 400, closing at 15,070 and 84,600, respectively. Meanwhile, KEPCO KPS recorded a slight increase of 150, ending at 47,650.

Other notable movements included Hyundai Rotem's surge of 3,000 to close at 215,500, and SeAH Steel Holdings' rise by 4,800, ending at 160,800. On the downside, LGCHEM saw a decrease of 2,500, closing at 280,000, and LG Corp.'s stock declined by 200 to reach 72,500.
