KOSPI 200 Sees Gains in Several Sectors Amid Mixed Performance

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index reflected mixed performance as several companies saw significant gains, while a few experienced declines in their stock prices. Leading the gains, HD Hyundai Electric surged with an increase of 54,000 to close at 1,061,000. Other notable gainers include KIWOOM, which climbed by 17,500 to reach 480,000, and NCsoft, which rose by 9,500 to end at 248,500.

According to Yonhap News Agency, some companies experienced declines, with HanmiPharm dropping by 9,000 to close at 501,000 and APR falling by 13,500 to 386,000. Despite these decreases, the overall trend for the index was positive, driven by strong performances in various sectors.

Kakao and NAVER also contributed to the upward momentum, with Kakao increasing by 1,100 to 48,100 and NAVER by 2,500 to 201,500. In the retail sector, emart rose by 5,000 to close at 97,600, and BGF Retail gained 3,200 to reach 130,500.

Meanwhile, Hanwha Ocean and Hanwha Engine both saw upward trends, with Hanwha Ocean up by 4,000 to 124,100 and Hanwha Engine increasing by 2,500 to 48,600. Among the companies experiencing minor declines, SKCHEM fell by 300 to 56,900, and MIWON SC decreased by 100 to 123,400.

The financial sector also showed positive results; Meritz Financial gained 4,400 to finish at 118,300, while BNK Financial Group rose by 170 to 18,640. These movements highlight varied performance across the index, with several companies achieving substantial gains.
