Seoul:The KOSPI 200 index experienced a rise as several major stocks closed with gains. Hyundai Engineering and Construction saw an increase, closing at 94,900, up by 1,100. Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance also climbed, reaching 607,000, up by 21,000. Other notable gainers included Samsung Biologics, which surged to 1,427,000, marking an increase of 129,000, and LG Chem, which rose to 275,500, up by 21,500.

According to Yonhap News Agency, additional stocks that contributed to the index's upward momentum included POSCO Holdings, which closed at 314,500, up by 18,000, and LG Energy Solution, which increased by 29,000 to close at 432,000. Lotte Shopping reported a significant gain, ending the day at 93,900, up by 8,600.

However, not all stocks fared positively. Hanmi Science experienced a decline, closing at 45,550, down by 2,150. Similarly, Samsung Electro-Mechanics decreased by 18,000, ending at 1,170,000, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries saw a drop of 6,000, closing at 345,500.
