KOSPI 200 Sees Decline with Notable Losses in Key Stocks

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a decline as several major companies reported losses in their stock prices. The closing prices revealed significant downward trends in various sectors, impacting the overall market performance.

According to Yonhap News Agency, KCC closed at 524,000, marking a decrease of 9,000. SKBP also saw a reduction, closing at 87,000, down by 1,700. Samsung Epis Holding experienced a substantial drop, closing at 429,000 with a decrease of 24,500. This trend continued with S-1 and Hanchem, whose prices fell to 70,500 and 280,500, decreasing by 700 and 17,000, respectively.

Other companies such as DWS, KEPCO, and SamsungSecu also reported declines. DWS closed at 20,350, down by 300, while KEPCO ended at 37,900, a decrease of 1,450. SamsungSecu's price fell by 300, closing at 118,900. SKTelecom and Hyundai Elevator faced decreases of 1,000 and 2,300, closing at 94,900 and 76,600, respectively. HankukCarbon and SAMSUNG SDS reported declines as well, with HankukCarbon closing at 30,350, down by 1,650, and SAMSUNG SDS at 212,000, a decrease of 9,000.

In the aerospace sector, Korea Aerospace ended at 146,500, down by 5,500, while Hanon Systems saw a reduction of 125, closing at 4,515. The market witnessed some positive movements with SK and HyundaiGlovis, which closed at 724,000 and 222,500, gaining 37,000 and 10,500, respectively.

Despite these gains, the overall market saw declines in several other companies, including SBHC, Taihan Cable and Solution, and LG Corp. SBHC closed at 40,950, a decrease of 2,250, while Taihan Cable and Solution ended at 38,250, down by 1,250. LG Corp. reported a decline of 1,000, closing at 108,900.

The chemical and food sectors were not spared, with SamyangFood and OCI Holdings facing reductions. SamyangFood closed at 1,103,000, down by 8,000, and OCI Holdings at 256,500, a decrease of 15,000. Korea Zinc also reported a decline of 17,000, closing at 1,192,000.

In the transportation and electronics sectors, Hyundai Wia and KumhoPetrochem closed at 72,900 and 125,000, marking decreases of 3,400 and 4,000, respectively. Hanwha Aerospace and LG Uplus also saw declines, closing at 1,122,000 and 14,710, down by 67,000 and 300.

The overall decline in the KOSPI 200 index reflects the broader economic challenges faced by various sectors, impacting investor confidence and market stability.
