KOSPI 200 Sees Broad Gains with Technology and Energy Sectors Leading the Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with significant gains, driven by strong performances in the technology and energy sectors. The index saw major players registering increases in their stock prices, contributing to the positive momentum in the market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, SKBP recorded an increase of 1,200, closing at 109,700. CSWIND saw a rise of 1,750, reaching 43,100. COWAY ended the session at 82,600, up by 4,400. KUMHOTIRE closed at 6,910, reflecting an increase of 670. KOREA AEROSPACE finished at 162,600, with a gain of 4,300.

In the technology sector, SAMSUNG SDS rose by 2,300 to reach 167,800, while SamsungElec experienced a significant increase of 7,800, closing at 166,400. LG Energy Solution also saw a rise, closing at 394,500, up by 9,500. SAMSUNG SDI CO.,LTD. ended the day at 380,000, with an increase of 10,000.

The energy sector was highlighted by HANWHA SOLUTIONS, which closed at 47,700, up by 5,700. POSCO DX and POSCO FUTURE M also saw gains, closing at 39,150 and 225,500, with increases of 1,600 and 7,500, respectively. HYOSUNG HEAVY closed at 2,396,000, up by 185,000.

Retail and financial stocks also contributed to the positive market sentiment. LOTTE SHOPPING rose by 1,800 to end at 98,800, while IBK increased by 500, closing at 23,500. GS Retail saw a smaller gain of 200, ending at 21,000. MIRAE ASSET SEC closed at 53,400, up by 5,400.

Other notable performances included LG Corp., which increased by 1,900 to close at 91,600. Daewoong and SamyangFood both registered gains, closing at 25,250 and 1,095,000, up by 1,550 and 35,000, respectively. NHIS ended at 26,750, up by 800.

Despite the overall positive trend, KPIC saw a slight decline of 200, closing at 145,500. However, this was overshadowed by the broader market gains, indicating a strong day for the KOSPI 200.
