Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index closed with gains, as numerous major companies experienced increases in their stock prices. Notable among the leaders were Samsung Biologics and Korea Zinc, which saw significant upward shifts in their closing prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Biologics' stock price rose by 131,000 to close at 1,647,000, while Korea Zinc witnessed an increase of 127,000, closing at 1,759,000. Other notable gainers included Hyundai Motor, which increased by 47,000 to end at 548,000, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, which saw a rise of 48,000, closing at 559,000.
SKSQUARE also experienced a substantial increase, with its price rising by 59,000 to reach 566,000. Among other companies, Samsung Electronics gained 19,400, closing at 191,600, and LG Innotek rose by 17,500, ending the day at 263,500. Shinsegae and LS also posted gains, with their prices increasing by 17,500 and 16,500, respectively.
Meanwhile, ISUPETASYS showed a significant rise of 16,800, closing at 115,600, while DB Insurance increased by 15,100, ending at 190,600. Smaller increases were observed in companies such as Hyundai WIA, with a gain of 12,600 to close at 91,000, and OCI Holdings, which rose by 10,700 to end at 131,300.
Despite the general upward trend, KPIC was the only company in the list to record a decrease, with its stock price falling by 200 to close at 133,400. Overall, the session marked a positive movement for the KOSPI 200 index, with most companies experiencing rises in their stock prices.
