Seoul:The KOSPI 200 index has experienced a widespread decline as several major companies saw their stock prices fall. Notable among these was Samsung Card, which closed at 41,550, down by 600. Cheil Worldwide and Lotte Wellfood also faced downturns, with their stock prices dropping by 220 and 5,100, respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KT and LG Electronics also reported losses, with KT's shares decreasing by 1,100 to settle at 45,700, while LG Electronics fell by 1,100 to 156,000. Meanwhile, Woori Financial Group's stock decreased by 850 to 29,250.
The decline extended across various sectors, with Hanwha Ocean and L and F seeing reductions of 2,300 and 2,700, respectively, in their stock prices. KDHC and SANIL ELECTRIC also faced significant drops, with KDHC down by 2,600 and SANIL ELECTRIC by 5,600.
Some companies did experience gains, such as LG CNS, which increased by 700 to reach 73,500, and Hyundai Glovis, which rose by 300 to 176,200. However, these were exceptions in an otherwise declining market trend.
