Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a notable downturn as numerous leading companies reported declines in their closing stock prices. The data reveals a widespread drop across various sectors, affecting some of South Korea's most prominent corporations.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LotteChilsung closed at 120,100, marking a decrease of 1,400. S-1 remained unchanged at 83,100, while Samsung Epis Holding experienced a significant drop of 17,000, closing at 515,000. DWS also faced a decline, closing at 24,350, down by 350. On the other hand, Hanchem showed an upward trend, closing at 284,000, an increase of 9,000.
Yuhan and SLCORP experienced decreases, with Yuhan closing at 97,400, down by 1,900, and SLCORP at 63,300, down by 2,000. HITEJINRO's stock fell by 110, closing at 16,670, while CJ Logistics saw a drop of 1,900, closing at 110,000. DL and Doosan also recorded declines, closing at 44,600 and 1,088,000, respectively.
SamsungElec showed resilience with an increase of 5,200, closing at 188,700. Meanwhile, DongwonInd's stock decreased by 950, closing at 37,500. NHIS experienced a slight increase, closing at 31,750, up by 50. Conversely, Kia Corp. and LGELECTRONICS showed mixed results, with Kia Corp. dropping by 2,300 to close at 162,000, while LGELECTRONICS increased by 1,100, closing at 114,200.
Further declines were recorded by LG H and H, KEPCO E and C, and LGCHEM, closing at 240,500, 172,400, and 292,000, respectively. Celltrion also faced a notable decline, closing at 200,000, down by 5,500. Other companies such as Sanil Electric, KEPCO KPS, and LG CNS recorded decreases in their stock prices as well.
Financial groups like WooriFinancialGroup and ShinhanGroup also faced downturns, closing at 31,900 and 90,000, respectively. Meanwhile, Hyundai Glovis and HDKSOE reported declines, closing at 219,000 and 409,500, respectively. OCI Holdings and Hanwha Solutions also faced significant losses, closing at 158,100 and 46,050, respectively.
