KOSPI 200 Records Gains as Major Stocks Rise

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced notable gains as several major stocks witnessed increases in their closing prices. Leading the pack was LIG Nex1, which saw a significant rise of 33,000, closing at 416,000. Samsung C and T also performed well, with an increase of 9,500, bringing its closing price to 249,000.

According to Yonhap News Agency, other prominent companies contributing to the upward trend included Samsung Life, which rose by 3,200 to close at 155,000, and Doosan Enerbility, which increased by 2,900 to reach 77,400. Hyundai Glovis and Hankook Tire and Technology also recorded gains, with their prices rising by 2,200 each.

Despite the overall positive trend, some companies experienced declines. Samsung Biologics saw a decrease of 5,000, closing at 1,733,000, while CJ Logistics fell by 5,400, ending at 95,500. Doosan also faced a decline, dropping by 10,000 to close at 760,000.

Other notable performances included Hanwha, which rose by 1,900 to 80,400, and KakaoPay, which increased by 2,000 to 45,900. Among the stocks that remained unchanged were Hyundai Engineering and Construction and SK Square, maintaining their positions at 69,400 and 290,500 respectively.

The mixed performance of stocks reflects the dynamic nature of the market, with various sectors showing both gains and losses, contributing to the overall movement of the index.
