Other prominent companies such as LGCHEM and Celltrion also recorded declines, with LGCHEM down by 5,000 to 276,500 and Celltrion decreasing by 7,700 to 175,900.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the mixed performance in the KOSPI 200 index reflects varied investor sentiment across different sectors. Among the gainers, Hanwha increased by 5,600, reaching 110,500, while Hankook Tire and Technology rose by 3,200 to 705,000. In the pharmaceutical sector, Daewoong Pharm gained 800 to close at 133,300, showing resilience despite the broader market uncertainties.
The financial sector saw mixed results as well, with Hanwha Life advancing by 30 to 4,500, while JB Financial Group fell by 50 to 26,100. Meritz Financial and BNK Financial Group also saw declines, with Meritz Financial down by 500 to 112,400 and BNK Financial Group decreasing by 170 to 18,610.
In the retail sector, emart experienced a rise, closing up by 1,600 at 85,100, whereas GS Retail saw a slight decline, down by 50 to 24,950. The energy sector was marked by SK Innovation's increase of 1,500 to 96,500, while LG Energy Solution dropped by 8,000, closing at 354,500.
The industrial sector witnessed significant declines, with HYOSUNG HEAVY decreasing by 206,000 to 3,117,000 and HD-Hyundai Marine Engine down by 2,300 to 63,200. This mixed performance across various sectors highlights the fluctuating dynamics and investor responses in the KOSPI 200 market.
