Seoul: The KOSPI 200, a key stock market index in South Korea, experienced a downturn in its closing prices, with several major companies witnessing a decline in their stock values. This shift highlights ongoing market fluctuations impacting various sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, significant declines were observed in several prominent firms. LGCHEM saw its stocks fall by 10,000 to close at 336,000. Korea Aerospace reported a decrease of 3,700, resulting in a closing price of 110,100. Meanwhile, KumhoTire's shares dropped by 200, closing at 5,900.
Other notable declines include TKG Huchems, which fell by 470 to 19,170, and JB Financial Group, down by 250, ending at 26,050. ShinhanGroup and LGELECTRONICS also faced decreases, with their stocks dropping by 1,000 and 900, closing at 76,800 and 91,600, respectively.
Celltrion closed at 180,000 after a decrease of 2,000, while LG CNS saw a reduction of 700, finishing at 62,100. KEPCO E and C experienced a decline, closing at 90,000 after a drop of 1,000. DAEWOONG PHARM's shares fell by 3,200 to 174,200, and Sanil Electric decreased by 3,700, ending at 129,900.
Additional declines were noted in companies such as Meritz Financial, which dropped by 1,100 to 108,200, and KOLMAR KOREA, down by 900 to 61,100. Korea Zinc faced a significant decrease, closing at 1,288,000 after a drop of 28,000.
Among these trends, some companies saw gains, including Samsung SDS, which increased by 1,100 to 170,600, and HanmiPharm, which rose by 10,000 to 450,500. Despite these gains, the overall trend for the KOSPI 200 index remained one of decline, reflecting the broader market challenges.
