Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a mix of increases and declines as several major stocks experienced drops in their closing prices. Notably, HD Hyundai, HD Hyundai Electric, and Samsung Biologics were among those recording significant declines, while a few companies like MiwonComcl saw an uptick in their closing prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai Electric witnessed a substantial drop of 53,000 in its closing price, settling at 1,309,000. Similarly, Samsung Biologics saw a decline of 15,000, closing at 1,443,000. Other major companies that experienced a downturn included SK hynix, which dropped by 45,000 to close at 1,835,000, and Samsung SDI Co., Ltd., which fell by 55,000 to 629,000.
The report highlighted that despite the overall decline, some companies managed to buck the trend. MiwonComcl's stock increased by 900 to reach 141,400, and Hyundai WIA saw a rise of 3,800, closing at 93,400. S-Oil also reported an increase, with its stock price rising by 3,400 to 114,300.
On the other hand, companies such as SKCHEM and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries faced declines of 2,600 and 31,000, respectively. Meanwhile, stocks like SKTelecom and COSMAX recorded upward movements of 5,200 and 6,500, respectively.
The KOSPI 200's mixed movements reflect the varying performance across different sectors, with some companies managing to achieve gains despite the overall downward trend in many major stocks.
