KOSPI 200 Experiences Decline with SK hynix Leading Losses

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index has witnessed a noticeable decline with several key stocks closing at lower prices. Major companies such as SK Innovation, Amorepacific, and Doosan reported significant drops in their stock values, contributing to the index's overall downturn.

According to Yonhap News Agency, SK hynix experienced the largest decline among the listed companies, with its stock price dropping by 36,000 to close at 570,000. This was followed by SK Square, which saw a decrease of 21,000, ending at 283,500. Additionally, Doosan's stock price fell by 43,000, closing at 932,000, adding to the negative performance of the index.

Other notable declines included HDHMS, which decreased by 9,500 to 200,000, and Hanwha, which saw a decrease of 4,400, closing at 86,500. Amorepacific also recorded a drop of 3,600, ending the session at 123,600.

Despite the overall downward trend, a few companies managed to record gains. Emart's stock rose by 400, closing at 79,900, while CJ saw an increase of 3,500, ending at 178,100. Youngpoong also recorded a slight increase, closing at 57,700, up 100.

The mixed performance reflects the varied market conditions affecting different sectors, with the technology and industrial sectors experiencing significant pressure. The results come amid broader economic uncertainties impacting investor sentiment.
