Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index observed varied movements today, with several major stocks recording losses, while others posted gains. Market participants noted significant price changes among prominent companies listed on the index.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Dongwon Industries saw a decrease of 500, closing at 38,900. Similarly, POSCO Holdings experienced a drop of 3,000, ending the session at 418,500. Samsung Electronics also faced a decline of 1,500, closing at 217,500. NHIS followed the downward trend with a decrease of 350, settling at 35,600.
In contrast, some companies witnessed an upward trajectory. DB Insurance rose by 1,400, closing at 172,100. Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. saw an increase of 14,000, ending at 659,000, while DN Automotive climbed by 1,800, reaching 40,950. OCI Holdings recorded a substantial gain, rising by 15,500 to close at 314,000.
Among other notable movements, Korea Zinc surged by 28,000, finishing at 1,698,000. On the flip side, SK faced a decline of 5,000, closing at 381,500. Samsung Life also experienced a significant drop of 8,500, ending at 247,500.
The mixed results reflect the current volatility in the market, with both positive and negative performances among key players in the KOSPI 200 index. Market analysts will continue to monitor these trends as they assess future outlooks for South Korean stocks.
