Korean Air Tops Annual Passenger Quality Survey Among 51 Airlines

Seoul: Korean Air Co., South Korea's leading full-service carrier, ranked the highest among domestic and foreign airlines in an annual government-led passenger quality survey conducted last year, the transport ministry said Friday. Korean Air finished first among 51 airlines, including 41 foreign carriers, in the annual air transport service survey conducted on 31,168 passengers between October and December, according to the ministry.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the largest South Korean carrier scored 6.07 points on the 1-7 scale evaluation, recording the highest score among both domestic and foreign airlines. Among domestic airlines, Asiana Airlines Inc., a Korean Air subsidiary, ranked second, with 5.97 points, followed by low-cost carriers Air Premia Inc. and Air Busan Co., with 5.83 points and 5.77 points, respectively.

Among foreign airlines, Japan's ANA topped the list, scoring 6.03 points, followed by Eva Air of Taiwan and Singapore Airlines with 5.96 points and 5.88 points, respectively. In an airport evaluation, Gimpo International Airport received the highest rating of A+ in convenience over strong accessibility and services for passengers with physical disabilities.

Incheon International Airport, the country's main gateway located west of Seoul; Gimhae International Airport in the southeastern city of Busan; and Jeju International Airport received A ratings in the convenience category.
