Tokyo: The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) announced it hosted an annual conference in Tokyo alongside the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The conference focused on sharing experiences in helping companies navigate uncertainties surrounding the United States' tariff schemes and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between their overseas networks for trade-related information sharing.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kang Kyung-sun, the president of KOTRA, highlighted the challenges faced by trade promotion agencies in the current global trade environment. He expressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation to access global markets, citing the significant potential for collaboration between Korea and Japan due to shared characteristics, such as a heavy reliance on manufacturing, low birth rates, and aging populations.
The conference also addressed the use of artificial intelligence in supporting export companies and explored avenues for cooperation in future industries, showcasing a commitment to adaptability and forward-thinking strategies in the evolving trade landscape.
