Kim Jong-un Advocates for Limitless Nuclear Expansion Amid Mounting Tensions.

Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has called for the enhancement of the country's nuclear capabilities "without limitation" and emphasized the need to complete war preparations. This announcement comes in response to what Kim describes as increased "frantic" military confrontations with North Korea by its adversaries, as reported by state media on Monday. According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim's remarks were made during the 4th Conference of Battalion Commanders and Political Instructors of the Korean People's Army. The event, held over two days in Pyongyang, concluded on Friday and marked the first such gathering in a decade. Kim urged military officials to prioritize completing war preparations and underscored the necessity of bolstering nuclear forces to deter potential conflicts. In his address, Kim stated, "We will strengthen our self-defense power, centered on nuclear forces, without limitation, not being content (with our current level) and ceaselessly." He further criticized the trilateral co operation between South Korea, the United States, and Japan, labeling it a "critical" threat to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. Kim accused the U.S.-led military alliance of expanding its influence into larger areas, including Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Kim also alleged that the U.S. and Western countries are using Ukraine as "shock troops" in a campaign against Russia, aiming to broaden Washington's military intervention globally. However, he did not comment on North Korea's reported deployment of troops to Russia to support Moscow's conflict with Ukraine. Kim's speech coincided with a trilateral summit involving the leaders of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan. The summit took place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Peru on Friday, where the leaders condemned North Korea's growing military ties with Russia. Furthermore, South Korea and the U.S. have confirmed the involvement of North Korean soldiers in combat operations against Ukrainian forces in Russia's western Kursk border region.
