KG Mobility’s October Sales Rise by 2.9% Driven by Overseas Demand

Seoul: KG Mobility Corp. reported a modest increase in its October sales, with figures showing a 2.9 percent rise compared to the same month last year, primarily attributed to an upswing in overseas shipments.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean automaker sold a total of 9,517 vehicles in October, surpassing the 9,245 units sold during the same period in the previous year. This growth was largely fueled by strong export performance, despite a noticeable decline in domestic sales.

Domestic sales for October fell by 21.5 percent year-on-year, amounting to 3,537 units. However, this domestic downturn was offset by a significant increase in exports, which surged by 26.1 percent to 4,741 units. The rise in exports was driven by heightened demand for models such as the Torres EVX sport utility vehicle (SUV) and the Actyon Hybrid.

For the period from January to October, KG Mobility's cumulative sales experienced a 2.2 percent increase, reaching 91,905 units, up from 89,888 units in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company's focus on SUVs appears to be paying off, with a diverse lineup that includes the Actyon, Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Torres, all-electric Torres EVX SUV, Musso Sports pickup, and Musso electric vehicle (EV) pickup.

KG Mobility's strategic emphasis on expanding its international presence and enhancing its SUV offerings has been instrumental in driving the company's sales growth, as evidenced by the latest export figures.
