KG Mobility’s August Sales Increase by 9% Amid Domestic and International Demand

Seoul: KG Mobility Corp. reported a 9 percent increase in sales for August compared to the same month last year, driven by strong demand for its vehicles both domestically and internationally.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the automaker sold a total of 8,860 vehicles in August, up from 8,128 units during the same period last year. Domestic sales accounted for 4,055 units, marking a 2.8 percent increase from the previous year. This growth was primarily driven by a 33 percent rise in sales of the newly launched Actyon Hybrid, which hit the market in mid-July.

On the international front, exports rose by 14.8 percent to 4,805 units. This increase was largely attributed to a significant 75.3 percent surge in sales of the Torres EVX sport utility vehicle (SUV). The rise in exports helped mitigate the impact of reduced production due to fewer business days during the summer vacation period, as stated by the company.

Additionally, KG Mobility announced a new agreement last month to supply Rexton and Musso SUVs to Spanish law enforcement agencies for special missions. This move is part of the company's broader strategy to enhance its presence in the global market.

Despite the positive results for August, the company reported a 1.7 percent decline in cumulative sales from January to August, totaling 71,752 units compared to 73,006 units in the same timeframe last year. KG Mobility's current lineup includes eight models: the Actyon, Tivoli, Korando, Rexton, Torres, the all-electric Torres EVX SUV, Musso Sports pickup, and Musso EV pickup.
