Seoul: Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) Ltd. announced it has obtained a 101.4 billion-won (US$69.1 million) performance-based logistics (PBL) contract from the Philippines to provide maintenance and logistics support for the FA-50PH fighter jets of the Philippine Air Force. The three-year agreement will ensure sustained support for the aircraft through 2028.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the FA-50PH is a modified version of KAI's FA-50 jet, customized for the military needs of the Philippines. The PBL model is aimed at delivering stable and efficient logistical support over the aircraft's service life, which is approximately 30 to 40 years. This recent contract follows a previous one-year pilot PBL agreement valued at around 27 billion won, which KAI signed with the Philippines in December 2024.

KAI attributed the successful execution of the pilot program as a key factor in securing the new contract. The Philippines remains a significant operator of KAI's FA-50 jets, having purchased an initial batch of 12 units in 2014, with an additional order for another 12 units placed last year.
