Seoul: Actors Jung Ho-yeon and Ryu Jun-yeol have been cast in Netflix's new Korean series, tentatively titled "Outback," the streaming platform said Friday. The series is based on the thriller webtoon "G'day" and features an ensemble cast including Hong Kyung, Won Ji-an, and Justin Min.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the series is set in Australia and follows a character named Zion, played by Hong Kyung, who travels to the country after hearing about his sister's sudden death in search of the truth behind it. Ryu Jun-yeol takes on the role of Min-hyuk, a mysterious figure central to the unfolding case, while Won Ji-an portrays Zion's sister, Si-young.
Jung Ho-yeon and Justin Min join the cast as streamer Smiley and Korean Australian police officer Scott, respectively. The series is executive produced by Han Jun-hee, known for his work on the popular Netflix series "D.P." As of now, the release date for "Outback" has not been confirmed.
